Tonkinese Pedigree Database |
Introduction
The idea for the Tonkinese Pedigree database was born in 2004; the
realization of the database is the result of the collaboration between the
IG Tonkanese und Tibeter
(Interest Group Tonkinese and Tibetan, Germany), which also hosts the database
and me, Monika Wernli, the initiator of the project and also the main
administrator.
At this point I would like to express my gratitude to the following
individuals without whom this database would not have been possible:
- Ger Versluis, from
Romaeh Koetjing Burmese,
for modifying and installing his database scripts for us
- Katja Pelzer, from
Tonkanesen vom Wachenbachtal,
for her help in setting up the hosting
- Silke Lautz,
Tonkanesen von
Lenné, for her support
- and all the people who have been kind enough to send me
their cat's pedigrees
Aim
The aim of the Tonkinese Pedigree Database project is to collect and enter as many
pedigrees of Tonkinese as possible into the database and in this way to charter
the development of the breed.
Over time, as more pedigrees are entered into the database, it is also intended
as a tool for breeders to plan matings or to select a new queen/stud that will
compliment their existing cats' bloodlines.
The database is public, so everybody interested can consult it.
How it works
Everybody who owns a Tonkinese (or a Tibetan, the semi-longhaired variant of
the Tonkinese) can submit their cat's data. In order not to exceed the limits of
the database, for 1. Generation Tonkinese (Siamese x Burmese) only the parents
will be entered, but no further generations (except in cases where the parent of
the 1. Generation Tonkinese is itself a Tonkinese).
Those interested in the non-Tonkinese ancestors of their cats should go to the
respective breed databases:

Name and title (the title can be changed at a later
date)
Sex

Registration No.
Country (where it was bred)
Parents (name of sire and dam)

How to submit data
You can either use the submit form in the pedigree, or you can type the data
into an e-mail and send it directly, or in form of a pedigree either in jpg or
pdf format to
monziponzi@datacomm.ch.
Alternatively you can also submit pedigrees via regular mail (please send
photocopies only, as I won't be able to return them) to the following mail
